Monica’s Mexican Food is a straightforward spot serving hearty Mexican fare in Pomona, located right inside a gas station off S Reservoir St. This is very much a no-frills, grab-and-go kind of place, though there is some limited seating if you want to eat in rather than take away. The atmosphere is unpretentious and utilitarian—functional more than cozy—with the buzz of a busy neighborhood joint where locals swing by any time of day, from early breakfast through late evening.

If you’re looking for reliably filling Mexican dishes at good value, Monica’s tends to deliver consistently. It’s especially popular for breakfast with items like the large breakfast burritos stuffed with eggs and bacon or ham, often paired with their bold green salsa and a straightforward cup of coffee. The place sees regulars who appreciate a quick, satisfying start to their day, along with folks stopping in for lunch or dinner favorites like Super Nachos, Carne Asada Fries, and Tacos de Carnitas.

The menu offers classic, hearty options without much fuss—burritos in various styles, shrimp quesadillas, and plates like Carne Asada Alambre are staples here. Portions tend to be generous enough to keep you going for several hours, which local workers and students seem to appreciate. Monica’s also offers refreshing aguas frescas like horchata and tamarindo, complementing the rich, savory flavors.

Because it’s inside a gas station, the setting lacks the ambiance of a traditional sit-down Mexican restaurant, but the speed and consistency shine through even during busy times. It’s the kind of place you trust for a quick, authentic fix without the wait or formality. For anyone in Pomona who values straightforward Mexican food at any hour, especially those on the move or grabbing a takeout bite, Monica’s fits the bill well.

if you want somewhere reliable for Mexican food any time of day (or night) that gives great value and hearty portions, I’d mark Monica’s as a strong choice.

This place is solid. I get breakfast burrito once or twice a week.

Great taco plate. You might be wary of a mexican place next to a gas station, but DON'T BE! I've been coming here for a year and have never been disappointed! The food is always fresh and high quality. Even when they are busy, it's always fast. This is my go to taco place!

You know the term "hole in the wall"? This place is the true definition of that If the location was better It would be a 5.0-4.9! Perfect place to grab and go the best was I could describe the food is. "It's like Alberto's" but better.... WAY better! You can totally sit down and eat too but just know it's inside a gas station so seating is limited!

The breakfast burrito is excellent and it's big enough to keep my working man full until lunch. I normally grab food here for take away and they have a great menu with generous portions.
